Amendment History

Every change to the BDL charter, and the league vote that made it — kept permanently so it doesn’t get lost with time. Required by charter §1.18: every binding decision must be written into the charter within 14 days, citing the vote that produced it.

The 2026 Reconciliation Revision

Ratified July 20, 2026 Poll #990337 Effect immediate
7 – 0Unanimous · quorum met (§1.10)

“Adopt the proposed 2026 charter revision (every change marked inline at charter.bdl2k.com) as the official BDL charter?” — passed with all seven voting franchises in favor, none opposed. The off-season threshold is seven participating and 51% in favor; this cleared it at 100%.

This was not a single rule change but a full reconciliation. The charter had drifted from a decade of league decisions — MyFantasyLeague purges the message board, so poll-ratified amendments from 2016–2025 were never written into the text, and years of accreted wording had grown internally contradictory. The revision rebuilt the charter from the league’s complete poll history (2015–2025, 31 polls), then ran a full internal consistency audit.

Wording = language cleanup, no change in meaning · Clarification = defines a fuzzy term or codifies existing practice · New rule = the charter was silent and a default was adopted. Every poll-ratified amendment listed below was also folded into the running text, and a new Rulings Appendix (§12) was added for player-specific precedents.

Prior amendments

League votes over the years that never made it into the old charter text — the message board that recorded them is gone. The 2026 revision folded them in; they’re listed here, newest first, so the vote behind each surviving rule stays visible.

  1. Nov 2025 Commissioner statement now §12.2 / 11.4
Starting inactive players to tank is against league expectations; owners must field active players weekly. Now enforced with a per-slot penalty (11.4).
  2. Sep 2024 8 – 1 now §12.1
    Taysom Hill is TE-eligible.
  3. 2023 7 – 0 now 11.1
Added the superflex starting spot (effective 2025).
  4. May 2022 7 – 3 now 8.4
Pre-Season UFA opens the Tuesday before the first Thursday in August, replacing the old “one week before the NFL Draft, monthly” rule.
  5. May 2021 6 – 1 now 7.6
Owners may not trade RFA-eligible players (effective the 2022 off-season).
  6. 2021 Schedule expansion now 1.4
The cross-division extra Week-1 matchup, adopted with the expanded NFL and BDL schedules.
The 2019 trade-deadline vote recorded Week 13; the deadline moved to Week 14 with this expansion but was never separately voted. The 2026 revision ratified Week 14 as the deadline actually in force (7.3).
  7. 2016 8 – 0 now 8.10
In-season waivers end at the conclusion of the Championship.
  8. 2016 9 – 1 now 8.10
